A challenge that does not sell does not necessarily need to be shorter. Before changing the duration, find out whether people understand the problem, engage with the material and see a relevant offer.
Shortening the calendar can reduce friction for some participants. It can also remove useful opportunities to build trust and answer questions. The right decision depends on where your own participants stop progressing.
Identify the actual drop-off
Track the journey by stage: signup, joining the delivery channel, consuming the early material, seeing the offer and buying. Include follow-up after the advertised challenge ends.
If many people never join the group, the first issue is the transition after signup. Removing three teaching days will not fix that step.
Check when people can buy
If the only invitation arrives after most participants have stopped watching, you may need to explain the paid option earlier. That is different from deleting the rest of the challenge.
You can give interested people a clear buying opportunity and continue answering questions for those who need more time. Keep all deadlines and availability statements accurate.
Test a shorter version deliberately
Write down what you expect to improve and what you will retain. Keep the central problem, the explanation of your approach and the invitation to coaching coherent.
Do not change the audience, offer, delivery platform and length at the same time if you want to learn what caused the difference. Compare completed cohorts, including later sales, rather than judging only the final advertised day.
Avoid the one-video shortcut
A single sales video can work, but it has to do more of the explanation without a continuing conversation. It is not automatically an easier beginner version of a challenge.
Use the questions from earlier rounds to improve your message before compressing it. If people repeatedly need the same clarification, that is material the shorter version still needs to address.
Choose the duration that supports the customer journey you have evidence for, not the duration that sounds easiest to record this weekend.
