How to decide what to sell as an online fitness coach
Choose an online coaching offer by matching a specific customer problem with a service you can deliver well.
Choose an online coaching offer by matching a specific customer problem with a service you can deliver well. The format should follow that decision.
Starting with "I should sell a course" or "I need a membership" can leave you building something before understanding why someone would buy it.
Define the customer and the task
Describe who you help, the problem they recognise and the change they want support with. Speak to suitable people about what they have tried and where they get stuck.
Keep their language in your research notes. Do not substitute an invented customer profile for actual conversations.
Match the support to the need
A self-directed resource provides information and structure. Group coaching can add shared support and scheduled guidance. Individual coaching can provide more direct attention and decisions tailored to the person.
These are different service commitments. Choose the combination that fits the client need and your capacity, then make the boundaries clear.
Test the offer before building every asset
An initial paid version can help you learn what clients need, provided you explain what is available and fulfil the promise. If you use introductory terms, state how they differ from the later service.
Do not present unfinished delivery as a complete system or make positive testimonials a condition of a discount.
Check the economics and workload
Estimate what the service requires at different client counts. Include support, administration and preparation as well as visible coaching time.
A group format may share some work across clients, but it does not make delivery costless or remove the need for individual judgement.
Decide the next step from client evidence
Use questions, engagement and delivery experience to improve the offer. Add a second product when it serves a distinct demonstrated need, rather than because a long product ladder looks impressive.
A focused offer that people understand and you can reliably deliver is a stronger foundation than several poorly defined options.
